Jenn Shinaberger stumbled onto improv comedy on her way to becoming a storyteller, and was instantly hooked. During her classes at Carolina Improv Company she realized that she has been doing improv comedy with her family and friends most of her life. Jenn’s past performance credits include her one line and opening solo as Hattie in “Kiss Me Kate” in a community-theatre massacred production, which was her theatre debut and retirement. Luckily, Jenn found improv comedy where she does not have to memorize anything and her nerdy, deadpan sense of humor is appreciated.
In her professional life, Jenn is the assistant director of the faculty development center at Coastal Carolina University and a teaching associate. Jenn is married to Lee Shinaberger, who is conveniently a fellow player so she can practice improv at home. Jenn credits improv with opening her up to many new possibilities in life. After all, when your main goal is to have fun and make people laugh, it’s the best thing in the world.
